Carbonatites intrusives and kimberlites are deep-rooted intrusives, often associated with rift zones. Kimberlites (diamond potential) rise up as volcanoes coming from the earth’s mantle, some 400 kilometers at depth, whereas carbonatites come up from some 100 kilometers deep, bringing up to the surface commodities such as niobium, tantalum and rare earths.
